The Illustrated News Of The World
Below I present a scanned copy of the Illustrated News of the World, No 13 – Volume 1, published on Saturday, May 1, 1858. The embedded PDF below is scanned from the original document at 600dpi in 1-bit monochrome, a median filter applied to reduce noise, and the resulting images downscaled to 300dpi, combined and OCR applied in Adobe Acrobat. It is best viewed using the ‘View fullscreen’ link. A higher quality version for printing is available for download here.
